Indian Microwave RecipesIndian Microwave recipes are good for health, there are many myths and debates weather using Microwave oven is good for health or bad. We all know people always believe negative words rather than positive and negative words spread faster than positive.

Let me explain this with a small example if you heat food in a plastic bowl then it’s bad for health, it may also cause cancer. Plastic breaks down when heated and allows chemicals like BPA and phthalates mix with food. In contrary, all food experts always suggest you to use microwave safe bowl (if you notice you will have a symbol on the plastic or glass containers you purchase). These containers do not melt down.

Usually microwave can penetrate upto 1 to 1.5 inch depth so it is always advisable to cut vegetables or non-vegetarian food to small pieces. Especially when you are planning to cook non-veg (poultry or red meat), In all my posts especially related to Indian microwave recipes I recommend not to use big pieces, if you are thinking about chicken, yes its harmful if you cook only one side leaving other side. I always suggest my readers to cook chicken breast or leg pieces for a particular time on one side and rotate the same to other side for next period of time.

Microwave cooking takes little time to cook vegetables, so using small amount of water helps in steaming and cooking vegetables without losing its vitamins and minerals.

When I was reading an article regarding Indian microwave recipes, I have come across the fact of pasta. Do you believe, when pasta is cooked and cooled, again reheated in microwave can lower post meal rise in blood glucose levels? Yes when pasta is cooled and reheated it helps in lowering breaking of carbohydrates and absorbing sugar. Don’t get much exited I said only one of the studies.
