Roast and make a fine powder of chana dal.

Sieve rice flour and besan flour and mix with chana dal powder.

Add sesame seeds, thymol seeds and little asafoetida.

Sprinkle red chili powder and unsalted butter and mix well.

Add adequate water and mix all ingredients till you get a soft and pliable dough.

Take a small lump of dough and put in a Murukku press

Press dough on a greased polythene paper or a plate.

Heat oil in a kadai and put Jantikalu once oil reaches optimum hot.

Deep fry them till they turn golden brown color.
