Ingredients
  • Mushrooms – 250 gms.
  • Basmati rice – 250 gms. 1 bowl
  • Water – 500 ml. 2 bowls
  • Oil – 3 tbsp. 1 large spoon
  • Cinnamon sticks – 4 No.
  • Cloves – 7 No.
  • Green Cardamom – 3 No. crushed
  • Star anise – 1 No.
  • Bay leaves – 3 No.
  • Onions – 1 bowl 3 No.
  • Green chillies – 5 No.
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp.
  • Mint leaves – 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tbsp.
  • Salt – 1 tbsp.
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp.
  • Garam masala powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Black pepper powder – a pinch.
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • Lemon extract – ½ piece
Instructions
  1. Clean and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes. Keep aside.
  2. In a thick bottom vessel, heat oil and add cinnamon sticks, green cardamoms, bay leaf, cloves and star anise.
  3. Add onions and green chillies, cook till they turn soft.
  4. Put ginger garlic paste and saute for a while till its raw flavour is cooked.
  5. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, black pepper, salt, garam masala powder, mint leaves, coriander leaves, curd and little lemon extract.
  6. Mix well and add mushroom pieces. Again mix and cook with a lid for 5 minutes.
  7. Once mushrooms are semi-cooked, pour rice soaked water and bring it to boil.
  8. While water is boiling, add rice and cook for 15-20 minutes till Biryani is done.
  9. To enhance the flavour and aroma of Mushroom Biryani Recipe, put pure ghee over rice and place a lid so that it melts.
