In a pressure add 1 cup kandipappu and clean by adding little water.

Add 2 cups of water and add green chillies, curry leaves, turmeric powder and little oil.

Pressure cook on high flame for first whistle blow and next 2 whistles on low flame.

Usually, good quality dal turns soft for 3 whistles, if not mash dal using dal masher by adding little salt.

Transfer this paste to a serving bowl and keep aside.

In a small vessel, heat ghee and add mustard and cumin seeds, red chillies, garlic cloves and curry leaves.

Sauté for a while and pour over Andhra mudda pappu recipe and serve with hot steamed rice.
