Ingredients
  • Kandi Pappu/ Red gram – ½ cup
  • Chana dal – ¼ cup
  • Moong dal – ¼ cup
  • Jeera/ cumin seeds – 1 tbsp.
  • Dry red chillies – 12 No.
  • Hing/ Asafetida – ½ tbsp.
  • Salt – 1 tbsp.
Instructions
  1. Dry roast red gram dal in a pan on low flame till they turn golden brown and exhibit a nice aroma.
  2. Transfer to another plate to cool. Add chana dal and roast separately. Transfer to the same plate.
  3. Put moong dal and spices as they get roasted fast.
  4. Add Jeera, dry red chillies and asafetida. Let all spices get cooled.
  5. Put all spices in a mixer grinder and add salt to it. Make mild coarse or soft powder.
  6. Andhra Kandi Podi Recipe | Poruppu Podi tastes great when accompanied with hot rice and ghee.
