As our recipe states, it’s masala flavoured beetroot recipe lets first prepare a spice mix.

In a mixer grinder add fresh coconut pieces, garlic and green chillies.

Grind to a soft paste and keep aside. In the same grinder put onions and make onion paste.

In a pan heat oil and add cumin seeds, onion paste and coconut paste. Saute for a while.

Sprinkle red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and little water.

Mix all ingredients and add beetroot slices when masala mix starts boiling.

Cook for 15-20 minutes with lid covered till beetroots are cooked.

Sprinkle garam masala powder and mix. Cook for a minute and garnish with coriander leaves.

Beetroot Masala Curry tastes great when accompanied with chapati or steamed rice.
