Prawns Curry | Royyala Iguru is one of the simple seafood recipes which can be done with fewer ingredients by giving you amazing flavour.

Ingredients
  • Prawns – 250 gms.
  • Salt – ½ tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Oil – 3 tbsp.
  • Cinnamon sticks – 2 No.
  • Cloves – 4 No.
  • Green cardamom – 1 No.
  • Cumin seeds/ jeera – ½ tbsp.
  • Onions – ½ bowl
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp.
  • Green chillies – 2 No.
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tbsp.
  • Coriander powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Tomatoes – ½ bowl
  • Water – ½ bowl
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp.
Instructions
  1. Clean prawns with a little salt and turmeric powder. Wash and then put them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add little salt and turmeric powder. Mix and keep aside.
  3. Heat very little oil in a pan and spread it. Put above prawns and saute for a while.
  4. Lower flame and cook for a while with lid covered so that moisture releases.
  5. When prawns are semi-cooked, transfer them to a plate.
  6. Add a little more oil to the same pan and add cloves, cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks and green cardamom.
  7. Put finely sliced onions and saute for a while.
  8. Add ginger garlic paste, green chillies, a little turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.
  9. Put finely sliced tomaotes and cook with lid covered till they turn soft.
  10. Once oil oozes out add prawns and mix.
  11. Add ½ bowl water and cook further with lid covered till water evaporates and we get thick gravy.
  12. Sprinkle coriander leaves and mix. Serve prawns curry with chapati or with steam rice.
