In a mixing bowl, add besan flour, rice flour, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, soda, salt, turmeric powder and thymol seeds.

Mix all ingredients and pour water in small quantities and mix well to get lump free thick batter.

Meanwhile, put a frying pan and add oil to it. Keep low to medium flame and let temperature attain optimum level.

Peel the skin and slice the banana into thick and long pieces.

Put these slices in saltwater so that they do not turn black.

To keep batter concentration thick, let’s remove banana slices and dry over a clean cloth.

Once the oil is ready, dip aratikaya pieces in batter and coat both sides.

Put them gently in oil and deep fry by stirring occasionally till turn golden brown colour.

Using a colander remove from oil and transfer over a kitchen towel to drain excess oil.
