Barbaticurry is a South Indian curry made with long layrd beans, also known as longbeans, asparagus beans, or Chinese long beans.

Ingredients
Barbati/ long yard beans – 250 gms.
Oil – 3 tbsp.
Mustard seeds – ½ tbsp.
Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp.
Chana dal – 1 tbsp.
Green chilies – 3-4 No.
Onions – 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp.
Curry leaves – 2 tbsp.
Tomatoes – 1 cup
Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp.
Salt – 1 ½ tbsp.
Red chili powder – 1 tbsp.
Water – 250 ml.
Coriander powder – ½ tbsp.
Garam masala powder – ½ tbsp.
Coriander leaves – 3 tbsp.
Instructions
In a kadai, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and chana dal.
Add minced green chilies, ginger garlic paste, onions and curry leaves.
Put sliced tomatoes and cook whole spices for two minutes with lid covered.
Remove fiber from edges of barbate and break them into 1 inch size. Put them in curry.
Sprinkle turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder and water. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes with lid covered.
Sprinkle coriander powder and garam masala powder. Once water evaporates and barbati curry recipe thickens garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
