Ingredients
  • - 2 medium ripe bananas approx. 200 g peeled, sliced
  • - 1.5 cups 360 g fresh plain curd (dahi / whole-milk yogurt), chilled
  • - ¼ cup 60 ml chilled whole milk (or cold water)
  • - 1.5 tbsp granulated sugar raw cane sugar, or honey (adjust to taste)
  • - ¼ tsp freshly crushed green cardamom powder
  • - 1 tbsp slivered pistachios and almonds for garnish, optional
Instructions
  1. Peel and slice the ripe bananas into rounds.
  2. In a blender jar, add the sliced bananas, sweetener, and chilled milk. Blend on medium speed for 30–45 seconds until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Add the chilled curd and freshly crushed green cardamom powder to the jar.
  4. Pulse the blender 3 to 4 times (or blend on low for 15 seconds) until frothy, thick, and well-mixed. Avoid over-blending to keep the curd thick.
  5. Check consistency; if too dense, pulse in an additional 2 tablespoons of cold milk.
  6. Pour into tall glasses, garnish with slivered nuts or extra cardamom, and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes
  • Use fresh, sweet dahi; sour curd will clash with sweet bananas.
  • For best texture without dilution, use refrigerated or frozen banana slices instead of adding ice cubes.
  • Blend bananas first before adding yogurt to prevent fruit chunks.

Storage:

  • Best consumed immediately. Can be stored in an airtight glass bottle in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours. Shake well before drinking. Do not freeze.
