In pan heat oil and add chana dal, mustard seeds, moong dal, cumin seeds and garlic.

Add sliced onions and curry leaves. Saute for a while till onions turn soft.

Put tindora (cut them into thin pieces so that they can be cooked fast).

Sprinkle little salt and turmeric powder, mix and cook with lid covered for a while till they turn soft.

Add tomatoes and cook further till tomatoes turn soft.

Sprinkle red chilli powder, water and cook for a while till dondakaya cooks completely.

Add coriander powder at the end and mix so that curry thickens.

Garnish dondakaya curry with coriander leaves and serve hot.
