TIPS to make perfect Utappam Recipe:
- If using whole urad dal you need to clean well until its skin gets peeled off.
- If you are using poha then we need to add them to urad dal and soak them along with it.
- Clean idli Rava so that there are no insects or foreign materials.
- Make sure the batter is not runny, it should have a bit thick concentration.
- Add little dal as per your jar size and make sure the batter doesn’t get hot while grinding.
- To ferment properly we need to maintain room temperature during summers and maintain little warm during the winter season.
- During the fermentation process, the batter may swell and come out of vessel so it’s a good idea to have space between the rim of vessel and batter.
- We can add rock salt or iodized salt in batter either before fermentation or after.
- To have a great taste either put ghee or put little butter before putting the batter on the pan.
