It is one of the easy and simple recipes which can be accompanied with fried rice recipes. Unlike other raitas, we have added peanut and cumin seed powder to yogurt to extra flavor. Apart from all this is tempered with mustard seeds.

Ingredients

  • Carrots grated – ¼ cup
  • Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Peanuts roasted – 1 tbsp.
  • Cumin seeds roasted – 1 tsp.
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp.
  • Black pepper powder – ½ tsp.
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp.
  • Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp.
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

How to Make Carrot Raita:

  1. Roast peanuts and cumin seeds separately and powder both.
  2. Beat yogurt (curd) until smooth consistency.
  3. Add peanut and cumin seed powder, black pepper powder and salt and mix well.
  4. Add grated carrot to the above mixture and mix well
  5. On the other hand heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds until they begin spluttering.
  6. Remove from heat and add to the yogurt (curd) mixture
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  8. Carrot raita tastes good when served chilled
