Peanut Chutney Recipe | How to Make Peanut Chutney Recipe

Peanut chutney

Peanut chutney is one of the most preferred among south Indian recipes. As we all know peanuts are a good source of energy, it is good to add to our breakfast. It is much needed for growing children as they get exhausted with their education stress.

Whatever the breakfast you make most of them require chutney recipe accompanied with them. Most of the time we may make with coconut chutney but at times when you don’t find it, peanut chutney will come in hand.

While making this recipe one should choose fully dried avoid rancidly nuts. Few people like to make this recipe using tamarind pulp (helps in preserving this recipe for 2-3 days) but I have added yogurt as this is more flavored than tamarind version.

Groundnut chutney accompanied by their breakfast can fulfill this. You can even add it to your sandwich to make it delicious.

Tips to help you make a delicious peanut chutney:

  1. Roast the peanuts: Roasting the peanuts gives them a nutty flavor and enhances the taste of the chutney. Roast them in a dry pan or in the oven until they are lightly browned.
  2. Use fresh ingredients: Use fresh ingredients such as curry leaves, ginger, garlic, and green chilies to give the chutney a fresh and aromatic flavor.
  3. Use tamarind paste: Tamarind paste adds a tangy flavor to the chutney. Add a small amount of tamarind paste to the chutney, to balance the flavor.
  4. Grind the ingredients: Grind the roasted peanuts, spices, and other ingredients in a blender or food processor until they form a smooth paste. Add water gradually to achieve the desired consistency.
  5. Add tempering: Add a tempering of mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies to the chutney for added flavor.
  6. Adjust seasoning: Adjust the seasoning of the chutney to your taste by adding salt and chili powder as required.
  7. Serve with dishes: Serve the peanut chutney with South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, or vada. It can also be served as a dip with snacks such as samosas or pakoras.

By following these tips, you can make a delicious peanut chutney that is nutty, tangy, and perfect for any occasion. Enjoy!
