Usually, one can get fish eggs during breeding season. People who are well versed with marine can predict which fish has eggs and which do not but just touching it.

Many people who do not have knowledge of cooking fish eggs or with the lack of its health benefits leave them with the fish vendor and take pieces along with them.

This recipe consists of fewer ingredients and I am sure that all mentioned ingredients are available in many kitchens.

TIPS to make perfect Egg cutlet Recipe:

  • While cleaning fish eggs one need to take care that the membrane is not disturbed. If the membrane is torn, then eggs may be washed away.
  • Onions must be chopped to fine so that while cutlet binds properly.
  • We have added chilli sauce, if you do not have it we can even add a paste of green chillies.
  • As we have added chilli sauce we need to adjust the quantity of red chilli powder.
  • Add good quality chana dal to get a good taste. Also, this will help in binding.
  • Rice flour not only helps in getting crispy flavour but also helps in binding.
  • Fish egg cutlets must be dropped gently in oil or else there is a tendency to break.
  • Once cutlet is put in oil we need to wait for a few seconds so that base becomes hard else it becomes mushy and sticks to others.

Ingredients

  • Fish Eggs – 250 gms.
  • Onions – 1 cup
  • Chilli sauce – 1 tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tbsp.
  • Salt – ½ tbsp.
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Garam Masala powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Besan powder – 1 cup
  • Rice flour – 2 tbsp.
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp.
  • Oil – To shallow fry
  • Onions – to garnish
  • Tomato Ketchup – to Serve along with a snack.

Instructions

  1. Clean fish eggs and put them in a bowl.
  2. Add finely chopped onions pieces, turmeric powder, salt, chilli sauce, red chilli powder and garam masala powder.
  3. Continue adding beasn powder and rice flour which helps in binding eggs.
  4. Add coriander leaves to add flavour and mix well.
  5. Even after adding flour one may find it difficult in making cutlet but do not add more flour as it may become hard after making this recipe.
  6. When we soak our hand’s egg batter becomes non-sticky.
  7. Heat oil in a pan and make a circular shape and gently put it over a pan.
  8. Do not disturb them until the base turns hard. Once they turn colour flip to another side.
  9. When both sides are fried and become crisp drain oil and transfer them into a plate.
  10. Serve Fish Egg Cutlet | Fish Row Cutlet with onions or with tomato ketchup.

How to make Fish Egg Cutlet Recipe:

1.  Gently clean fish egg membrane and transfer to another vessel, add sliced onions, chilli sauce and turmeric powder.

3.  Put rice flour and coriander leaves. Mix well to get soft batter.

4.  Heat oil in a pan. While oil is getting heated up, wet your hands in water and make cutlet shape.

5.  Gently put Fish Roe Cutlets in oil and shallow fry them till they turn golden brown colour.

6.  Flip to other side till they become crisp. Transfer to serving plate once they are done.

Deep fry fish egg cutlets and serve hot.
