In India, the gulab jamun recipe is one of the famous and most liked recipes, they are prepared using flour, khova, bread, rava, etc. Each has a unique flavor, they are soft and melt in the mouth.

Similar to the khoya version of this recipe, we make use of breadcrumbs, we sometimes add milk powder to get a soft texture and then deep fry. Soaking time again depends on the concentration of sugar syrup we make. Our version takes 30 minutes to soak.

Usually, breadcrumb made dessert is a bit hard when compared to instant readymade powder mix or khoya but when you follow our tips and instructions you will start saving your money by making use of breadcrumb. 

TIPS to make Instant Bread Gulab Jamun:

  • Instead of adding brown bread, normal milk bread gives good taste.
  • Remove edges of bread as they are hard and spoils the texture of dough.
  • Add milk in small portions or else the dough may become loose and sticky.
  • Usually, bread powder looks more in quantity but when you add milk and make the dough, it shrinks and gives a small quantity. If you need more Gulab Jamuns then add more bread slices.
  • If you want this recipe to get more soft then we can add a pinch of soda.
  • We can even add little rose water to enhance the essence of this recipe.

Ingredients

  • Bread slices – 10 slices
  • Milk powder – 2 tbsp.
  • Sugar – 1 cup.
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp.

Instructions

  1. Based on the number of jamoons we need to make we have to select bread slices.
  2. Our recipe yields 20 No. medium size jamoons for 10 No. bread slices.
  3. Remove the edges of the bread and tear the softer part into a soft powder.
  4. To knead the powder and make soft dough add little by little milk and knead.
  5. Add milk powder and knead so that we get a soft texture dough mix.
  6. Take a small lump of dough and roll with mild pressure to get crack free balls and keep aside.
  7. To make sugar syrup we make use of equal portions of sugar and water to make fast syrup.
  8. Add cardamom powder or cardamom essence to give flavor to our recipe.
  9. Before syrup gets thick, off the flame and let syrup get cool.
  10. Heat oil in a pan at medium temperature and put balls and fry till they turn a golden brown color.
  11. Drain oil and put them directly in sugar syrup and soak for 30 minutes.
  12. The soaking time of Instant Bread Gulab Jamun Recipe varies based on the thickness of the sugar syrup. If you make thick syrup then it may take time to soak.

How to make Instant Bread Gulab Jamun:

1.  Cut the edges of the bread and put the middle part into the mixing bowl. Tear into small pieces and make a powder of it.

2.  Pour milk and mix to get a soft dough. (If you want to make more Gulab Jamun’s then add more bread slices.

3.  Add milk powder and mix well to get a soft dough.

4.  Take a small portion of dough and roll to crack free softballs.

5.  In a vessel add sugar and water in equal portions. Stir and melt the sugar and then add cardamom powder.

6.  Boil sugar syrup for two minutes and off the flame before syrup thickens.
