  • Always grind sesame seeds in a small intervals of 10-30 seconds as there is a chance of getting mushy or oil oozing out.
  • Grind sesame seeds and peanuts separately as sesame seeds get ground fast.
  • To get thick jaggery syrup it’s enough to add only 1 cup of water to 1 bowl of jaggery or else it takes time to thicken.

Ingredients

  • Sesame seeds – 1 cup
  • Peanut – 1 cup
  • Green cardamom – 7 No.
  • Jaggery – 1 bowl
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Fresh coconut grate – 1 bowl
  • Ghee – 2-3 tbps.

Instructions

  1. Dry roast sesame seeds and peanuts on low flame separately till we can smell nice aroma out of them.
  2. Transfer to another plate and let cool before we grind.
  3. If you have cardamom powder it’s good or else crush them before we add to grinder.
  4. Grind sesame seeds and peanuts one after onother by adding green cardamom to them.
  5. While grinding we need to add them in small mixer jar and grind for 10-30 seconds.
  6. Here we need only powder not paste, grinding for long time will make it form lumps as oil oozes out.
  7. Make jaggery syrup by adding just 1 cup of water to 1 bowl of jaggery.
  8. Once jaggery melts filter it to remove foreign particles, if you feel it’s pure then you may skip filtering.
  9. Boil jaggery syrup till we get thick and sticky concentration.
  10. Lower the flame and add fresh coconut grate and mix till coconut grate turns soft.
  11. At the end sprinkle sesame-peanut powder and mix well so that we get thick lump.
  12. Add ghee to enhance flavor and to make it non-sticky. Off the flame and keep aside to cool.
  13. While the mix is semi-hot, take small portion and press to make Peanut sesame laddu recipe.

How to make Peanut sesame laddu recipe:

1.  Dry roast sesame seeds on low flame till they turn a golden colour. Transfer to another plate and let it cool.

2.  Similarly dry roast peanuts on low flame till the skin turns dark. Keep aside to cool.

3.  Once sesame seeds are cooled, transfer them to a mixer grinder along with crushed green cardamom. Grind to powder by rotating for 10-30 second intervals.

4.  Grind peanuts to powder and add this to sesame seed powder. Mix well.

5.  Put jaggery in a pan and pour 1 cup of water and let jaggery crystals melt and form syrup.

6.  Before jaggery syrup gets thickened, filter the syrup to remove any foreign particles and put back syrup in the pan.

7.  Let the syrup boil for a minute or two on high flame till we get a sticky concentration as shown in the image.

Boil jaggery syrup and bring to thick concentration.

8.  Add fresh coconut grate in syrup, mix and cook for a while till the coconut grate absorbs the syrup and turns soft.

9.  Add sesame and peanut powder and mix well. Add ghee and cook for a minute and off the flame.

10. While the mixture is semi-hot, take a small portion and press to form a circular shape. Once cooled store the Peanut sesame laddu recipe in a container.
