Chicken Manchurian Recipe | How to Make Chicken Manchurian Gravy

Chicken ManchuriaChicken Manchurian Recipe is basically the Indo-Chinese recipe. Whenever I go to the restaurant I like to order this recipe accompanied by noodles or egg fried rice.

I have observed some making this recipe even by adding the egg while marinating, you can also add an egg if you like. In this variation, I used eggs for making Chicken Manchurian Recipe while deep frying. The egg makes chicken smoother from inside and crispy from outside, as egg white acts as a binding ingredient. Also, it enhances the flavor of this recipe.

Ingredients for Marination:

Boneless Chicken – 300 gms.

Egg beat – 2 tbsp.

Black pepper – 1/4 tbsp.

Soya sauce – 1 tbsp.

Rice flour/ maida – 1 tbsp.

Corn flour – 1 tbsp.

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp.

Red chilly powder – 1/2 tbsp.

Oil – 1 tbsp.

Ingredients for Chicken Manchuria:

Garlic cloves – 1 tbsp.

Curry leaves – 1 tbsp.

Green chilies – 3-4 nos.

Onions – 1 cup

Coriander leaves – ¼ cup (grated)

Soya sauce – 1 tbsp.

Oil – 3 tbsp.

Water – 50 ml.

Note: We can add Ajinomoto, lemon extract or vinegar, tomato sauce and even chilli sauce if you like spicier. I have avoided these ingredients.


How to Make Chicken Manchurian Recipe:

  • Clean chicken with water and add egg beat, black pepper, soya sauce and corn flour.

  • Add rice flour or maida/ all purpose flour, red chilly powder, salt and ginger garlic paste.

  • To lock moisture add 1 tbsp. oil.

  • Mix all together so that this spice mix is absorbed by the chicken.

  • Marinate for about 30 minutes.
  • Deep fry chicken pieces until you get golden colour.

  • Add 3 tbsp. oil and put garlic pieces sliced finely, curry leaves and green chillies.

  • Add onion pieces and saute until translucent.

  • Finely chop coriander leaves and add them to onions.

  • Add 1 tbsp. soya sauce and little water and boil for a while.

  • At last, add fried chicken pieces and saute well so that gravy is absorbed by pieces.

  • Garnish with onion slices and lemon cut into two halves.
  • Serve Chicken Manchurian recipe hot.
