Hara PulaoHara Pulao or Green Pulao is one of the healthy recipes which goes well with all kinds of non-vegetarian recipes. It’s not only colorful but also healthy. If you are bored of eating ordinary rice, then make your dining table healthy with nutritional values of spinach. It is a great dish for all vegetarian and rice lovers.

In order to give extra flavor to basmati rice, we can even prepare rice using coconut milk. Hara pulao recipe can be made in all kinds of special occasions. Based on your taste buds you may adjust the spiciness by adding or removing the number of green chilies.

If you are a vegetarian then this dish goes well with cucumber tomato raita. We can even serve this recipe with plain papad. We can add mint leaves to this recipe to give refreshing flavor but again it’s optional.

Green Pulao Ingredients:

Basmati rice – 1 cup

Cauliflower (cut into small pieces) – 250 grams

Green peas – 150 grams

Thinly sliced potatoes – 200 grams

Cinnamon – 2 sticks

Cloves – 4

Black pepper – 7

Bay leaves – 2

Green cardamom – 2

Thinly sliced onions – 2

Thinly sliced green chili – 2

Vegetable oil-  4 tbsp.

The paste of { green Coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger} – about 100 grams

Salt to taste

Garam Masala Powder – little



How to Make Hara Pulao Recipe:

  • Put some oil on nonstick pan and fry cinnamon, bay leaves, black pepper and cloves for half a minute on low flame
  • Add green chilies and sliced onions until they change their color. keep this mixture aside.
  • To add some extra flavor, add remaining oil and fry all the vegetables for around 5 minutes.
  • Now add the paste of green chilies, coriander leaves and ginger.
  • Add fried onions mix along with garam masala and salt. Stir fry for more 5 minutes.
  • On another hand, wash the rice and cook like normal rice.
  • Once it’s cooled, add all the above ingredients to the rice.
  • Hara pulao is ready. Serve hot dressed with chopped coriander leaves
